Over time protection and attack technologies leap frog each other, outbreaks occur, Antivirus suites submit what they have learned and updates are issued, your protection product reads the update and you may be one of the lucky ones that is protected before that particular threat lands on one of your files. That’s how it works, at any given time there are many, many threats either in the wild, currently propagating or waiting on your flash key, backup drive, systems restore point or even your digital camera. I know I fight these things every day, unfortunately we, the people (NOT ME) accept virus infections and spyware as a part of life and so are apt to be more accepting of their existence. At least that’s what the behaviour I encounter would make you believe. Tell me when was the last time you proactively scanned all your digital media devices for infections? I can bet that the percentage is very, very low. My point in the making is that we need to try to irradiate these vectors just the way that we, the human race have worked hard in our efforts to eradicate biological viral and bacterial threats. So fellow humans go forth scan and delete, clean and quarantine. All the tools you need are out on the web see our page on free antivirus and choose your weapon. You may even care to invest or donate to the authors of same. In an effort to assist in educating people further I have created a table that tells how over the last three years we at computerguys.com.au have changed and adapted the products we use and recommend. If your on the Gold Coast and you want assistance with cleaning virus and spyware from your systems give ma a call and tell me your concearns adn what you think needs to be done, I'll be more than happy to advise and assist.
